Trying to install Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS on my Lenovo Thinkpad T61, and I can't get the installer to progress past the 'Updates and Other Software' screen. No matter what config I try to progress with (online/offline, updates/none, normal/minimal) and whatever combination, it just spins loading on that when I hit continue. A minute or an hour, it just sits there. If I hit cancel, sometimes it crashes and sometimes it boots over into the trial Ubuntu desktop, to which I can start installation again, but the same thing happens.
I've tried hitting shift or F6 first thing, and nothing changes, the same issue occurs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you dual-booting or is this a linux install only? If it is a linux install only have you attempted the "something else" install option in which you delegate partitions? There is also <a href="medium.com/@rongou/…> article if you have not run across it
