ubuntu Server noob speaking.
at our firm we have a new server setup that we want as out main server.
Its a dell 6/integrated Server wirh 6 drives.
I‘ve setup a ext4 RAID 5 with about 2TB of available storage. I‘ve installed Ubuntu Server wirh no Problems, it find the 2tb as ext4. After the reboot it immediately goes to grub and cant boot ubuntu.
When I type boot, it says that I need to load the kernel first.
When I ls it find hd0 and cd0.
But when i try to ls (hd0) it cannot show me any folders and when i hit enter it says filesystem not found.
I booted to a live usb with no problem and there i can see two partitions on the VD.
I have no idea how to get grub to know the filesystem. I tried loading in the modules manually (ext2, linux, etc) and these all work. But booting doesnt.
Can you help me boot the server?
Edit:
I tried set root and prefix but it wont work because it does not find any folders in hd0.
I tried ls (hd0,0) and (hd0,1) up to 4 but norhing exists
I tried (hd,gpt2) (and 0 and 1) as it says in the config. Also not found.
Is it correct to have a fat32 partition with 500 mb nd the main partition wirh ext4.reinstalling did not help. When hitting tab after (hd0, it find nothing.
The ls output:
(hd0) (cd0)
server dell raid5
