Is there a way to add a "new email" counter/badge to the Evolution app icon on Ubuntu Dock? The Thunderbird icon shows a badge/counter/indicator with the new resp. unread messages.

Ryan Hendrickson and Milan Crha have worked on this and it should arrive in Evolution with version 3.29.3+. Thanks a lot!
Hopefully this will be backported to Ubuntu 18.04 although I have my doubts.
Update 2019: No backporting yet. It looks we have to install a newer Ubuntu version to be able to use the updated Evolution with "new email" counter/badge 😔.
Ubuntu 19.04 comes with Evolution 3.32.1-2 and the counter/badge works.

          • @Cos64 Sayang it did not work for you. At least for me it works, it gives a green counter on the Evolution icon in the native Ubuntu dock. Maybe you can check your Evolution settings.
