I am running Ubuntu Bionic in VBox on a Win7 SP2 host:

 Virtualization: oracle
 Operating System: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
 Kernel: Linux 4.18.0-21-generic
 Architecture: x86-64

Without installing VBox Guest Additions version 6.0.12, I manage to connect to my remote Win10 server with FreeRDP version 2.0.0-dev with the below command:

sudo xfreerdp /cert-ignore /u:username /v:1.2.3.4 +clipboard /drive:mydrive,/mydir /size:1280x720

Once I install VBox GA, I keep getting the below errors, no matter how I strip the parameters or enforce certain authentication methods.

Error: protocol security negotiation or connection failure

My first question is whether this should be asked here, in the VBox forums or in the FreeRDP forums?

If not here, which data shall I collect to ensure that VBox GA or FreeRDP contributors would not suspect any Ubuntu-specific issues?

If this is the right forum, I would appreciate any hints how to resolve this issue.

The workaround of uninstalling VBox GA helps of course, however that makes the usage of the VM rather inconvenient.

This is my first post here, so of course I appreciate all remarks to improve my questions.
