my gpu is a sapphire rx580.
when i installed the gpu driver from amds website i reboot to see a very small and unusable screen resolution. i tried to change it in display settings but it causes the gnome settings app to crash. i also tried to restart into ununtu on wayland but it has the same problem.
OS is ubuntu 18.04.2 lts
edit: here is a link to a pic of my whole monitor.

If you see the icons and text very small that neans a higher - likely native, hence recommended -, not "tiny", resolution. What you need to change is the scaling, not the resolution.

i don't think it's the scaling. check my pic in the edit.
