I have upgraded from ubuntu 16 to an ubuntu 18 desktop version (installed the OS from scratch). The machine is a domain member. The domain controller is a Windows 2008R2 operating system. The users can log in to the ubuntu machone (via Kerberos and authentifiated by the domain controller of Windows). Furthermore, I changed the /etc/security/pam_mount.conf.xml
such that the users have their home directories.
<volume options="dir_mode=0700,file_mode=0700" user="*" fstype="cifs" server="fileserver1" path="home/%(DOMAIN_USER)/" mountpoint="/home/%(DOMAIN_USER)"/>
Logging in via ssh and accessing their files is working fine. Furthermore, they can login in Ubuntu 18 (Desktop) can get their home directroy also mounted correctly:
but:
I cannot change any setting in Ubuntu, e.g.
- change config of terminal
- cannot adjust the favorites
- cannot set the keyboard layout
It works, but only for 0.5sec and then the setting is automatically reverted. Probably something is wrong here. Any ideas why this does not work?
