while trying to dualBoot my hp pavilion 360x laptop win10/Ubuntu. Note that I have done this before with a different hp laptop and everything went smoothly. That bin said when I attempted to install Ubuntu via live usb session, the installation hang's where it supposed to install grub2.
I need to reboot my PC and of course windows bootloader take's action.
To boot to Ubuntu I need to enter the device boot list and choose Ubuntu and then o end up with the grub2 command line prompt and to boot from there I need to follow this https://www.linux.com/tutorials/how-rescue-non-booting-grub-2-linux/.
Disabled secure boot && tried boot-repair downloaded via ppa, after clicking the recommended repair method the boot repair hang's at. 're-installing grub'.

can you please edit your question to include your disk configuration? For example, do you have more than one physical hard drive, or are you trying to install Ubuntu on a partition on the same drive where Windows resides? Does the Ubuntu installer give you the option to "install alongside Windows"?
