Regiontog er en type persontog som ligger mellom lokaltog og fjerntog. De brukes på mellomlange og lengre strekninger, ofte mellom store byer og andre byer og tettsteder i samme landsdel. Der de går parallelt med lokaltogene, stopper de som regel ikke på de mindre stasjonene. Utenfor områder der det finnes lokaltog stopper de som regel på alle eller iallfall de fleste stasjoner med persontrafikk.

I Norge opereres denne typen tog for det meste av Vy. Stoppmønsteret tilsvarer omtrent tidligere tiders hurtigtog (Ht), men en rekke stasjoner er nedlagt siden dette togslaget fantes.
