Everytime I start up my Lenovo Ideapad, the Grub menu launches by default. When I select 'Ubuntu', the computer displays the purple screen and it never boots up. I tried adding 'nomodeset' to a line in advanced launch options, and even then it never boots up.

Please do not include "demands" on your questions. We're all volunteers doing this in whatever spare time we have. I can understand the urgency but that doesn't mean we should use "ASAP" twice, especially when you gave us little to nothing to work with! Please edit your question and 1. Post hardware specifications, make/model and especially graphics card. 2. Describe exactly how and where you addednomodeset

I have a gt 740m graphics card by Nvidia. The laptop is called Lenovo Ideapad z500 touch. I wrote 'nomodeset' on the linus line. The command lines appear when you press 'e' at 'Ubuntu' option.

Again, please edit the question to add requested info, not just in comments (first please accept my edit then do yours). Now, "Linus line" isn't a thing... You need to addnomodeset
to the same line where "quiet splash" is, anywhere, but making sure that is correctly spelled and there are spaces between the other words.

By the way, I meant 'LINUX' line, thank you. It's a typo

Did your computer ever successfully boot? If so, what has changed? Are you able to boot with a Live CD/USB?
