I'm using a laptop that I've installed Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS on, with xfce-desktop as my primary x server (I know there's a more proper term here, but forgive me, I can't remember it) and I noticed that while my laptop can resume from standby docked with the lid closed, it seems to only be the case for Ubuntu's default tty7. When i then switch to another one, it seems to poll the power state and then go to standby since the lid is closed.
Is there a way to set the power settings such that lid closed while plugged in to A/C power the laptop remains active? I didn't have much luck with Google searching, but i recognize that i might not be looking in the right places.
Thanks
