Gunung Augustus, monolit terbesar di muka bumi.


Monolit adalah suatu bentukan alami (geologis) atau buatan (teknologi), seperti gunung, yang tersusun dari batuan tunggal yang masif. Formasi atau bentukan ini biasanya muncul karena erosi dan biasanya terbuat dari batuan metamorf yang sangat keras. Kata ini berasal dari bahasa Yunani μονόλιϑος (monolithos) yang diturunkan dari μόνος ("satu" atau "sendiri") dan λίϑος ("batu").
