I am using Linux Mint 19 (Ubuntu 18.04) and I have to repeatedly open files located in sub-directories of a particular directory /home/path/to/resources/.

At present I have to open the file manager, click on the shortcut to /home/path/to/resources/, and then click the search icon before typing in the name of a file I want to search for.

Is it possible to configure the start menu so I can instead just press the Windows key to open the start menu and then when I type in a filename it will search the /home/path/to/resources/ directory? This would be a huge timesaver if it could be done.
