ubuntu release: 18.10.
As soon as ubuntu is up the LED of the USB-connected mouse turns off. While in BIOS mode it's on. I already set autosuspend to -1 - didn't help.
Any ideas, please?

Check if USB is set to Legacy in your BIOS.

Personally, I don't think you should say that the "USB port provides insufficient power" without further proof. Just because the LED turns off doesn't mean the power is insufficient. I guess in terms of USB-based devices, surely a mouse would use less power than (say) an external DVD drive. It could be some other reason. How about using an Ubuntu live CD? Boot from that and see if the mouse LED comes on. I suspect it will.

I guess in terms of USB-based devices, surely a mouse would use less power than (say) an external DVD drive. It could be some other reason. How about using an Ubuntu live CD? Boot from that and see if the mouse LED comes on. I suspect it will.
