I have an Ubuntu server running on a remote machine with a mdadm raid 5 for data an another hdd for the OS, on the server runs a VirtualBox Ubuntu server.
I logged onto the host via ssh and checked the raid status, all fine. I checked the uptime, worked. A few moments later I try to update the package list and following error appeared:
(30: Read-only file system)
Upon this error, I tried running "sudo mdadm --detail /dev/md0" again resulting in:
sudo: error while loading shared libraries: libsudo_util.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
among other errors like:
cd P-bash: cannot create temp file for here-document: Read-only file system
I then closed the ssh connection and on trying to reconnect via ssh on my Mac, following error keeps appearing, locking me out of the server:
Connection closed by xx.xx.xx.xx port 22
The guest OS running in VirtualBox is still accessible via ssh and the services running inside the guest OS are still fully functional.
While searching for the "Read-only file system" yields a few results, I can't find what to do against not being able to log in via ssh.
