Ok, so my geforce gtx 1050ti isn't being used. I recently installed Ubuntu 18.10. Things I have tried:

  1. Switching to proprietary drivers.

  2. uninstalling and reinstalling all the Nvidia packages on my computer.

  3. making sure secure boot wasn't turned on by accident.

  4. upgrading my drivers.

  5. downgrading my drivers.

To add insult to injury, my Nvidia settings application looks like this:

this.

It looks like that no matter if I reinstall it. Trying to switch to my Nvidia gpu via terminal command tells that I'm already using it. My framerate and this:

this

tells me otherwise.

I used to use Linux Mint, and my GPU worked fine with the proprietary drivers. Any hint as to what might be causing the problem would be appreciated. Thanks.
