Hi and thanks for reading and any help with this...
This is the first time I've installed UbuntuStudio onto SSD.
It is installed to root / and created a separate home folder.
The home folder mounts and shows up in File Manager. But the remainder of the SSD area doesn't show up in File Manager.
There are other hard disks with partitions that all show up in File Manager and will mount.
Attempting to install anything results in no action.
Does somebody know what might be going on here??

If you used the default installation, there is only one partition in the SSD. The SSD is identified in Ubuntu as/dev/sda
. The only partition is identified as/dev/sda1
. This is the system root/
partition. Something similar toC:
in Windows. Your Home folder is inside this partition as a folder, it is not a separate partition, and thus is not mounted. If you go to your Home folder and right click on the white space and select properties, you will see you have about 165 GB of free space. The problem of software not installing has nothing to do with/
partition of the Home folder.
