There are detailed descriptions on how to build from source on their github page. As far as installing dependencies, the majority of them can probably be installed throughaptor the software center. Also note the disclaimer: "AKIRA IS CURRENTLY IN EARLY DEVELOPMENT, NOT READY TO BE USED!"
